About DataScoop
Governments publish enormous amounts of useful data, then spread it across giant files, separate local portals and capped APIs. DataScoop turns that public data into something you can actually work with: a filtered spreadsheet, a clean REST API, or a tool your AI agent can call.
What we do
We collect official open datasets (food hygiene ratings, restaurant inspections, building permits and more), show each recorded import date and source attribution, and let you preview any of them free. Refresh timing depends on the publisher and the service configuration. When you need the full file you pay a small one-off price, or subscribe for unlimited access and the API. Today the catalogue contains 10,144,877 records across the UK, US and Australia, with more datasets added from a public research-driven roadmap.
What we will not do
We sell organisational data only: businesses, premises, ratings, permits. We never sell personal contact lists, and we strip people's names, phone numbers and home addresses from every source that includes them. Every dataset we carry is published under a licence that permits commercial reuse, listed on our licences page. How each dataset is built, refreshed and cleaned is on the methodology page.

DataScoop is an independent product. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Food Standards Agency, Food Standards Scotland, the City of New York, the City of Chicago, the City of Los Angeles, the City of Austin, New York State or any other publisher whose data we carry.
